About this tool
A classic game where a ball is knocked back and forth. Play against the computer at three difficulty levels, or grab the left and right paddles with a friend on one device. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
How to use
- Pick your opponent: the computer (easy, normal, hard) or two players.
- Move your paddle with the arrow keys or W and S. You can also drag up and down on screen.
- The ball flies at a sharper angle the closer to the paddle edge it lands, and speeds up a little with every rally.
- First to 11 points wins. Press New game to start over.
Frequently asked questions
- How do two people play on one device?
- Choose Two players: the left paddle uses W and S, the right uses the arrow keys. On a touch screen, drag on the left and right halves to control each paddle.
- What changes with difficulty?
- It changes how accurately the computer reads the ball and how quickly it follows. Hard almost never misses, so try to beat it on angles.
- Does the ball get too fast to see?
- Its speed is capped, so it never becomes uncontrollable, but the later rallies do test your reflexes.
