About this tool
Spin the wheel lets you list any items and spin a wheel to pick one at random. Create a "spin together" room and the rotation angle itself is shared, so an invited friend's wheel spins by the exact same amount and lands on the exact same item.
How to use
- Enter items separated by commas or line breaks, or pick one of the ready-made presets.
- Press "Spin" to set the wheel turning.
- After about 4 seconds it slows to a stop, and whatever the pointer lands on is the winner.
- Create a "spin together" room and share the link โ anyone invited sees the same result live.
Frequently asked questions
- Do more or fewer items change the odds?
- Every item gets an equal slice of the circle divided by the item count, so the odds stay even no matter how many items there are โ unless you list the same item more than once, which raises its chances.
- Who needs to press the button in "spin together" mode?
- Anyone in the room can press "Spin," and that spin is sent to everyone's screen so all wheels stop on the same item.
- Can I change the items while the wheel is spinning?
- No, the text box locks while the wheel is turning. Edit the list once it has stopped, then spin again.
- Is the result saved on a server?
- Without a "spin together" room, nothing is sent anywhere and everything is calculated in your browser. With a room, only the current items and rotation are briefly relayed for the live sync.
