About this tool

Check your controller buttons, sticks, triggers and rumble in one place. Pressed buttons light up instantly, analog sticks appear as a dot inside a two-dimensional circle, and triggers show as bars from 0 to 1. Take your hands off and wait two seconds and the tool measures how much the sticks wander on their own, which is exactly what you want to know before buying a used controller.

How to use

  1. Connect the controller by USB or Bluetooth and press any button once.
  2. Press each button in turn and check that the matching cell in the diagram lights up.
  3. Push the sticks to their limits to see the dot reach the edge, and check the triggers climb to 1.00.
  4. Let go of the sticks, press Measure dead zone and wait two seconds.

Frequently asked questions

I plugged the controller in but nothing appears.
Browsers hide gamepads until a button is pressed, as an anti-fingerprinting measure. Press any button. If it still does not show, try a different USB port or a wired connection.
What is stick drift?
It is input arriving even though you are not touching the stick. In games your character wanders off or your aim slides. A reading above 0.15 is worth worrying about.
The button names do not match my controller.
The labels follow the standard mapping. If the controller info says non-standard mapping, the browser does not know the button order, so ignore the names and go by which cell lights up when you press.
The vibration buttons do nothing.
Your controller or browser does not expose the vibration API. Some pads lose rumble specifically over Bluetooth, so try a wired connection.

This tool shows only the values the browser can read. If you have adjusted dead zones or response curves in the manufacturer software, what you see here already includes those adjustments. Input is never sent to a server.
