About this tool

This QR code generator turns a link, plain text, or Wi-Fi login details into a QR code image. The code is drawn in your browser the moment you type, and whatever you enter is never sent to a server โ€” it only becomes an image on your screen.

How to use

  1. Choose what to encode: URL, text, or Wi-Fi.
  2. Enter the link or message, or the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password.
  3. Watch the QR code update live as you type.
  4. Click download to save the QR code as a PNG.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of content can I turn into a QR code?
Three kinds: a website link, free-form text, and Wi-Fi login details (network name and password).
Is what I type saved on a server?
No. The QR code is generated in your browser the instant you type, and content such as links or passwords is never sent to a server.
How do I make a Wi-Fi QR code?
Switch to the Wi-Fi tab and enter the network name (SSID) and password. Scanning it with a phone camera connects automatically. Note the security type is fixed to WPA/WPA2, so it may not work correctly on networks using a different type.
Does the QR code expire?
No. It simply encodes the link or text as an image, so the code itself stays valid forever โ€” though if the link it points to later disappears, the QR code obviously can no longer take you there.
