About this tool

Register your exam dates and this tool counts down to each of them, nearest first, with a 25-minutes-on, 5-minutes-off pomodoro timer underneath. When a block ends you get a sound and a notification, and the minutes you actually focused today add up. The remaining time is derived from the absolute finishing moment, so it stays correct even when the browser throttles timers in a background tab.

How to use

  1. Press Add exam and enter the name and date. Whichever comes first moves to the top.
  2. Adjust the focus and break lengths to suit you; the defaults are 25 and 5 minutes.
  3. Press Start. The remaining time also appears in the browser tab title.
  4. To be alerted while on another tab, press the notification button and allow the permission.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer stay accurate if I switch tabs?
Yes. Instead of counting down a second at a time, it remembers the finishing moment and compares it with the current clock, so it matches real time even when the browser slows background timers to once a minute.
Will I still get an alert if I close the tab?
No. Both the sound and the notification need this tab to be alive. Switching to another tab is fine, but closing the window or quitting the browser ends the alerts.
Why does it not ask for notification permission right away?
A permission prompt that appears the moment you arrive is usually dismissed without anyone knowing what it was for, and once refused the browser remembers and never asks again. So it only asks when you press the button.
How is time focused today measured?
It is the sum of the time the timer actually ran. It adds elapsed time rather than counting completed cycles, so anything you spent paused is excluded. Only the last 30 days are kept.

Alerts and sounds work only while this tab is open. Your exam list and focus records are saved to your account, and carry across devices, only while you are signed in; signed out they live in this browser and disappear if you clear browser data.
